    Quick description

    Take a walk along the canal with the edge of the city centre about a 20 minute walk away. From the window of the houseboat you can feed the ducks and swans as you take in views of one of Amsterdam’s 2 large windmills. Imagine waking up in the morning with the sun shining and the reflection of the canal water rippling on your bedroom ceiling. . Near to the houseboat there are plenty of cheap parking spaces and public transport links to the city centre. For a truly unique and peaceful experience enjoy a stay in this well equipped Amsterdam houseboat, set in a peaceful location to the north-west of the city with some beautiful views over the water. On your way you will pass through some of the most picturesque areas of Amsterdam including the Westerpark and the Jordaan. .

    Hotel information

    Please note that the entire hotel is non smoking. The owners speak fluent English, German, Dutch and basic French. During your stay you will have the houseboat entirely to yourself. The houseboat has a private entrance, is fully furnished and sleeps up to 4 people. . .

    Room information

    For an additional fee the following services can be provided: laundry/ironing, child minding (up to 10 years old), extra bed, transport. The houseboat has its own shower and toilet. The living room area can sleep 2 people on the sofa bed and the separate bedroom has 2 beds (twin bedstead). A reduced price parking permit is also possible. The houseboat is fully furnished and sleeps up to 4 people. Pets are allowed for a fee, though you must contact the owners first. .

    Food & beverage

    Near to the houseboat there are small food shops, a supermarket, takeaway food and various restaurants. Coffee, tea, sugar, coffee whitener, salt, pepper and some spices are provided for free. The houseboat is fully equipped for self-catering with a kitchen, gas hob, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, pots and pans. No meals are provided. . .

    Area information

    The Jordaan, one of the most pleasant parts of the city, is within walking distance with its old houses, small shops, nice restaurants and terraced cafes. It is located next to one of Amsterdam’s 2 large windmills. The houseboat is situated in a quiet, peaceful part of the city, but within reach of the city centre by public transport. .

    Travel information

    BY CAR :
    - Driving from Schiphol Airport, Den Haag take the A4 road towards Amsterdam.
    - Then take Ring Amsterdam West (A10) towards Zaanstad.

    - Driving from Amersfoort (A1), take the Ring Amsterdam Oost (A 10) towards Den Haag.
    - Then take Ring Amsterdam West (A10) towards Zaanstad.

    - Driving from Utrecht (A2), take Ring Amsterdam Zuid (A10) towards Den Haag.
    - Then take Ring Amsterdam West (A10) towards Zaanstad.

    - After you take the West turning towards Zaanstad continue until exit S103 (Haarlem) which you need to take.
    - At the end of the exit turn right in the direction of Centrum (Haarlemmerweg).
    - Drive straight on until you reach the 4th set of traffic lights.
    - Turn left at the traffic lights towards the windmill.
    - Take the next right and then turn left into the car park. You will see the houseboat (number 6) right in front of the lawn around from the windmill.

    Parking fees are required between 09.00 and 19.00, except Sundays.


    BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT:
    - From Schiphol Airport railway station take the intercity train to Amsterdam Central Station.
    - From Central Station take Bus number 21, which is located at the bus terminal on the very left bridge.
    - Get off at Vredenhof (ask the driver to warn you where to get off). Your journey should take about 10 minutes.
    - Cross this road and continue walking in the driving direction of the bus until you reach the windmill.
    - Turn left into the second path just before the windmill. The houseboat (number 6) is the second one along, facing the windmill, directly in front of the lawn beside the windmill.

    There are connections from the houseboat to the city centre by bus and tram. For a small price, it may be possible for the owners to drive you to some locations in the city centre.


    Important information

    In some periods (summer period and Christmas/New year) period we ask for partly advance-payment. At least one week (in the summer and Christmas/New year period, at least 3 weeks) before your arrival date you must inform the owners of your definite arrival time. Immediately after making your booking you must contact the owners of the houseboat to indicate your time of arrival. .
