The granite construction of Quinta Formosa dates back to the end of the 19th century, when it was used as a private wine cellar. The farm has excellent panoramic views. In the east is Vila de Belmonte, Pedro álvares Cabral’s birthplace, and in the west is the village of Vale Formoso.
Forget daily cares with a dip in the hotel’s outdoor saltwater pool before retiring to the rustic comfort of your guest room. With just 5 rooms, Quinta Formosa staff are always available to answer any queries you may have.
Travel information
By Car:
- Leave the A23 at exit 33.
- Then you must take the N18.
- After 25.5 km, you should see the crossing to Vale Formoso.
By Train or Bus:
Get off at the Covilhã or Guarda station.
Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later, the first night will be charged.
In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 3 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 10.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.
Deposit Policy: 50 percent of the total amount will be charged on the day of booking and is refundable.
