Guestsuites de Groote Waere are located on the border of the Handzamevaart valley. The valley is characterised by its open landscape, where the red deers of the family graze. It is an unique view in the middle of the green nature, where you can walk and bycicle as much as you like. The squarehouse with its picturesque character has been converted to four luxurious guest chambers, where you can enjoy the peace of nature. The barn was converted to a common fair. It lets you enjoy the view on the inner garden.
Books and boardgames are available for our guests. De Groote Waere is the ideal place for relaxing!
Room information
During your stay in de Groote Waere you will be received in all luxury. The four guest chambers are cosy and spaciously decorated and provided with lounge including TV and DVD, internet connection and a kitchenette with fridge and microwave. The dormitory is provided with a stylish bed covered with linen. Every chamber has a separate bathroom (with bath and shower) and toilet. Also there is a terrace with garden furniture present.
One of our chambers has facilities for wheelchair users (please contact us beforehand if you would like to use this facility).
Food & beverage
Half board is possible when the four rooms are booked by a group.
A complete picknick with drinks will be provided for € 6,00 per person.
The horsestable (box+food) is available for € 6,00 per horse per day.

De Groote Waere is situated in Vladslo, municipality of Diksmuide. Diksmuide has a rich past. This historical city and surroundings provide many curiosities. Numerous walking- and bicycle routes will conduct you along the splendid nature of the IJzerstreek. On the way you'll find several picnickspots, which offer you a moment of relaxation. Our bed & breakfast offers a lot of possibilities for exploration: bicycles are rented on the spot, you can stable your own horse or make a walk with horse and carriage (on application). Moreover we offer you the possibility to play pingpong and we have a terrace in the sun with play area for the children. In the immediacy there is also an indoor playground.
Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later, the first night will be charged.
In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children under 5 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.
All older children or adults are charged EUR 20.00 per night and person for extra beds.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.
Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.
VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included.
Service charge is included.
City/tourist tax is not applicable.
Internet: Wireless internet is available in the entire De Groote Waere and is free of charge.
Meal Plan: Continental breakfast is included in the room rate.
